KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World follows Yukito Urabe, the son of a strange religious cult leader who dies in an accident and is reincarnated into a new world. However, this world is completely different from what he expected—religion and gods do not exist, and people live under a strict system where faith is forbidden. In this society, concepts like prayer, worship, and divine power are unknown, making it a truly “godless” world.
Yukito initially tries to live quietly, but everything changes when the goddess Mitama, whom his cult once worshipped, suddenly appears. Unfortunately, Mitama is weak due to the lack of believers, and she relies on Yukito to help rebuild her influence. Together, they begin spreading faith while facing resistance from the world’s oppressive system. The anime mixes absurd comedy, parody, and fantasy elements, delivering unpredictable moments, strange humor, and surprisingly dark themes beneath its chaotic surface.
